For Those Who Have BeenAsking After Me

I’m back in Juba, Sudan. Yeah, the two dead of the 8 Ugandans burned in that Juba fire were friends and housemates.

The Dead

I have been sitting a lot by the shore since I came here again. There’s still a lot to be said for Juba. I will be back.

i sometimes need reminded, in my soft and comfortable life, that tragedies occur so close to me, in one distance or another--in miles or 0s and 1s. we all share this giant but easily folded reality, and i think many of my countrymen forget about what they can't see.

which is to say, i'm sorry for your losses. i hope this is all bringing you hopeful reflections, too.
